Not Nordic walked for a while and would like to join regular Nordic Walks? Then this is the session for you!
The session will cover the key teaching points of Nordic walking, enabling you to feel more confident to join regular Nordic walks at the intensity to suit you. You must have completed a NWUK Learn to Nordic Walk course in the past.

Getting fitter, having more energy, looking and feeling better? You may be getting in your daily 10,000 steps but is it enough for YOU?
Counting steps is great to motivate someone who is just starting out on their good health journey but once you are achieving this on a regular basis, you may not be exercising hard enough to get fit!
So what’s the difference between health and fitness? Health is the absence of disease whereas fitness not only gives you the energy and strength to do more with your life, but it also allows you to build up your reserves to get you through patches when your immune system is low or challenged by your environment.
To increase your cardiovascular fitness the intensity of your exercise i.e. your heart rate, is more important than the distance i.e. steps.
Our 1-hour WORKOUT WALKS are more challenging than our ADVENTURE WALKS. We teach you how to monitor your heart rate and at what level you need to exercise, as well as bringing in more variety e.g. interval training, hill training, Gear 3, skipping, bounding, running, etc.

Peak District Nordic Walking Festival

New for 2018 The Rustick mini festival is a 2 day event in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Join the NWUK team for technique workshops, equipment reviews and social fun at the exclusive Tissington Hall a Jacobean manor House that sits within its own idyllic Village and Estate. Based just outside Ashbourne, this stunning Estate is the perfect gateway to walks in areas of outstanding beauty such as the iconic Dovedale and of course the Tissington trail itself.
Locally based NWUK Instructors will lead a range of walks for all levels in the surrounding Dales and Peaks so whether you can join us for one day or two, you will get to see the best of this amazing area.

Purbeck Nordic Walking Festival
The Purbeck Nordic walking festival (now known as Purplebeck!) in Dorset is in its third year. Explore this stunning area on the Jurassic coast and take part in walks in iconic locations like Brownsea Island, Thomas Hardy’s cottage and Old Harry Rocks.
This 3 day event includes two distance challenges (16 and 27 miles) and, new for 2018, a Saturday night social with live music at our unique Festival hub nestled beneath Corfe Castle.
